Julia James has been singing and writing music since the very beginning. James has been playing out independently, alongside her acoustic guitar, and powerful voice as young as fourteen, having over eight years of live performing under her belt, as well as six years of professional studio recording experience. Julia started teaching vocal and guitar lessons professionally at 21-years of age. She has gone on to teach the youth the importance of vocal health in hopes to create a world where vocal anatomy awareness is common knowledge. After transferring from Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee, where she majored in Songwriting, Julia went on to attend the University of Massachusetts Lowell majoring in Music Performance with a vocal emphasis. She is a lead singer and songwriter for the Lowell-based indie-alternative band, “Miss Karma”. Los Angeles, Boston, and Nashville constantly call her name. James recorded her first music video, “ego”, while in Hollywood, California, earlier this year. James has experience singing in multiple genres: such as classical operas, pop, rock, and more. James has been nominated for the 8th Annual Limelight Magazine Music Awards as “Young Performer of the Year” as well as performing the national anthem at Gillette Stadium. Julia’s creativity and determination makes her a multi-instrumentalist with experience playing guitar, trumpet, saxophone, piano, and violin. Julia’s goal is to help people heal through the creativity of music.
